Big Box Mart Healthcare - UnMasked

March 1st, 2006

Videe Well My Brothers

I wish that every conservative or libertarian (Randian or otherwise) or Republican would take the time to read the editorial in today’s St. Louis Post Dispatch.

I would link you the editorial – but – it wouldn’t do any good – because the Post Dispatch doesn’t believe in permalinks – preferring instead to roll off all content in 7 days and charge a fee to view it in the archives. They’re not exactly “state of the art” over there at the Post I’m afraid.

And… since I can’t “reprint” without permission I’ll have to make do with quoting the uhm… low-lites.

The title of the editorial is “Wal-mart tells it like it is.”

The editorial is a gigantic left-wing Hoo-Rah from the Socialized Medicine Amen Corner.

I’ve stated elsewhere in this blog that one of the biggest dangers of all Big Box Mart’s is there slavish devotion to offloading their responsibilities as Corporate Citizen’s onto government social programs.

The Post editorial rips the mask of the charade entirely and shows the grinning skull lurking underneath:

Amid all its squirming, obfuscating and evasion over its crummy health benefits, Wal-Mart put its finger on an undeniable truth:

“The soaring cost of health care in America cannot be sustained over the long term by any business that offers health benefits to its employees,” said CEO Lee Scott last week.

After a series of little orgasmic “AMEN” shouts – the Post dots the “i” :

We need another system. Workers know it. Bosses know it. The sooner business recognizes that fact — and uses its considerable influence in Congress — the sooner we’ll get a tax-funded national health insurance program that covers everyone.

Emphasis added. By ME.

As Emeril Lagasse would say BAM! There it is

A warm smelly pile – just steaming on the table in front of the reader.

The PD falls to it’s knees in reverence - a gigantic corporation – beneficiary of Big Government policies advocating what is… in essence – socialized medicine.

So that it doesn’t have to pay for it itself.

Hillarycare anyone?
Canadian-Style-Imploding-Economy-Single-Payer-System anyone?
European-Style-Imploding-Economy-Single-Payer-System anyone?

Any doubts?

Not after this quote :

Medicare could serve as an excellent model for a national health care program. It operates with one-third the overhead of private health insurers, and its enormous purchasing power lets it get lower prices from medical providers.

Videe well my Brothers and Only Droogs… when you have an ultra-liberal mouthpiece praising you for what is – for all practical purposes – a socialist ideology…

The Right needs to take notice.

And soon.
